The New York Country Club is currently seeking a part time (Full time hours in season, May – October) Grill Room Cook / Banquet Prep Cook

Reports to the Executive Chef

Hours of Operation: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Thursday / 6:00 am – 7:00 pm, Friday – Sunday
Also assists the Banquet team in producing all food items required for various banquet events (Weddings, Golf Outings, Corporate and Social events etc…)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality and consistency of food product
  • Prepare and properly garnish all food orders in accordance with menu specifications
  • Prepare sauces, soups and hot entrées in accordance with menu
  • Present food using proper plate presentation techniques
  • Adhere to club standards for safe food handling and storage
  • Keep equipment clean and in proper operating conditions
  • Maintain cleanliness and stocks coolers and storage areas
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas, Responsible for cleanliness of work areas at the end of each work period
  • Maximize food utilization / food cost
  • Communicate with chef on production status for the next day before completing shift
  • Ability to work in fast- paced environment, with timing of service to customers a priority while maintaining composure

The New York Country Club is seeking a Grill Room Bartender. Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and Serves drinks in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available
  • Follows set-up and breakdown procedures
  • Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks
  • Greets Members and Guests
  • Maintains, cleans and organizes bar area and equipment
  • Responsible for making alcoholic beverages according to the prescribed recipe and providing prompt, courteous service to all members and guests
  • Responsible for quality, portion control and presentation of all beverages.
  • Delivers food prepared by the kitchen to patrons seated in the Grillroom and on the patio.
  • Responsible for daily set up, stocking, and break down of bar area; for keeping dining room and patio eating areas and equipment cleaned at all times
  • Abiding by and enforcing all New York State Liquor Laws.
  • Perform related work as required and assigned.

Requirement:

  • 1-2 years previous experience in a high volume, fast-paced full service Bar / Restaurant
  • Able to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
  • TIPS Certified (Preferred)
  • Accepts responsibility for a cash drawer and has the ability to maintain the drawer throughout the shift
  • Ability to transport and carry objects such as glass racks and ice bins weighing up to 40 lbs. numerous times throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to 8 hours
  • Ability to listen effectively, process information quickly, and transfer knowledge to others in order to ensure standards of quality are consistently met

The New York Country Club is seeking Banquet Servers and a Bridal Attendant for the upcoming season. Availability on Friday, Saturday and Sundays a must. Must be a team player, hardworking, reliable and detail oriented. Candidate must be able to multi task in a high volume atmosphere. This is an ON CALL position offering competitive pay with room to grow. Experience is welcome but not necessary, we will train you.

Reports to: Banquet Manager

Banquet Server

  • Emphasis on Guest service and 100% guest satisfaction
  • Banquet experience a plus but we will train the right person if you’re motivated.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule with emphasis on weekends and holidays.

Bridal Attendant Responsibilities

  • Provide professional service to guarantee a successful wedding experience.
  • Ensure that all needs of the Bride/Groom, Family & Wedding Party are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bridal suite and other surrounding areas.
  • Help organize and assemble Bridal Party / Family for ceremony, photos & introductions
  • Making sure any special instructions from the couple are executed properly.
  • Assisting captains and staff members with party set-up.

Houseman

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of Club House event areas
  • Set up & breakdown of club areas based on floor plans
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time & lift upwards of 50lbs
  • Must be able to work varied shifts which include weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • A qualified applicant is punctual, helpful and willing to do what is necessary to get the job done. A team player that is reliable takes direction and works independently from lists to be effective.
  • Be able to read a BEO and know how to complete a setup.
  • Work safely and courteously at all times.

The New York Country Club is currently seeking a Part Time Housekeeper (Full Time hours in season, April – November)

Reports to the General Manager

Job description

  • Housekeeping includes vacuuming, cleaning of restaurant, Ballroom, offices, cleaning of bathrooms, and other periodic cleaning tasks
  • Is responsible for overseeing the care and upkeep of – Carpets, floors, walls, windows, and any other cleaning needs within the Club
  • Administers the cleaning / housekeeping maintenance of the Club
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using the appropriate cleaning supplies
  • Vacuums carpets in clubhouse, administration offices
  • Dusts rooms and furniture
  • Mops floors in entry ways of clubhouse, Grill Room, Bathrooms and Shower rooms
  • Empties trash containers in offices and takes to the dumpster
  • Restocks restroom supplies
  • Launders towels in the laundry room
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The New York Country Club is seeking a Maintenance Technician that will be responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. This position will assist in all phases of maintenance operations.

This position will be responsible for performing maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, drywall, carpentry, painting, electrical, while maintaining a safe and friendly environment. Handle in-house repairs in areas that might include painting, repair and replacement of wallboard systems, carpentry, and other related fields.

REPORTS TO: General Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assesses and prioritizes all work to be performed
  • Completes daily work schedules for routine maintenance duties
  • Completes maintenance work orders as assigned
  • Paints, cleans, completes maintenance items, and all other items required for the completion of the unit under renovation
  • Cleans all common areas and responsible for trash removal
  • Performs necessary maintenance relating to both the exterior and interiors of all buildings
  • Handles emergency situations that may arise, and communicates all details of the incident
  • Performs all phases of snow removal from all needed areas and maintains all appropriate equipment
  • General maintenance experience to include painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mowing, plowing, etc.
  • Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment.
  • Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
  • Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning, maintenance, repair and related supplies.
  • And other responsibilities assigned by the General Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Maintenance experience with a resort and/or hotel experience preferred
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in the field with trade school a plus
  • Highly skilled in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry and electrical
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools and a mechanical aptitude.
  • Highly skilled finish work in drywall finishing, cabinetry, wall/floor covering and finishes

The New York Country Club, located in the heart of Rockland County, is seeking a Pro-Shop Attendant for the upcoming season. Must be a team player, hardworking, reliable and detail oriented. Candidate must be able to multi task in a high volume atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and welcoming members, public golfers and all patrons of the New York Country Club.
  • Providing general customer service
  • Checking in golfers, running cash register and collecting green fees.
  • Booking tee times
  • Process transactions for all purchases.
  • Maintain starting times for play
  • Assisting customers with general questions about the golf course and merchandise both on the phone and in person.
  • Maintain knowledge of available merchandise, course conditions, rates, hours of operations for golf ops as well as all outlets throughout the club.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized Pro Shop, re-stocking merchandise, displays etc…
  • Open to cross training in other areas of the Clubhouse
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements:

  • Enjoy learning about the game of golf
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Flexible schedule. Must be available early mornings, weekends and some summer holidays
  • Be friendly, outgoing and courteous.
  • Have the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, including accepting calls on multiple phone lines
  • Basic computer skills

Customer service experience strongly preferred. Golf experience a plus.
